Here’s my simplest “Proof” for why “Supernatural” is Un-Real and Unscientific.

A middle school student would understand it if he/she has the slightest common sense and be completely honest about it.

“Newton’s 3rd law : If an object A exerts a force on object B, then object B must exert a force of equal magnitude and opposite direction back on object A. This law represents a certain symmetry in nature: forces always occur in pairs, and one body cannot exert a force on another without experiencing a force itself.”

-source Khan Academy 😉

What it means is, if we are to believe in a Supernatural existence that governs or even interacts with the Natural World (only by which means it can be Real, at all ! Whatever interacts with other “Real” things, including us, is “Real”.) it has to satisfy some conditions of being “Supernatural by Definition”.

1) It cannot be “Natural” !

2) That is, it cannot be “Physical” as physical objects interact with each other by the means of “The Laws of Physics”.

(which are just the ways of Nature. This merely concludes, whatever is physical, that is natural. If there could be anything that violates natural or say physical laws aka Physics, only that could be considered as “Super-Natural”. Violating Physics doesn’t mean finding new domains of physics ! It strictly means violating the known experimental results in the well-established well researched scientific field, which inherently cannot be summarized through all the known laws and theories of physics and neither by inventing any previously unexplored new domains of physics. And by Physics, scientifically we mean “Mathematical description of Nature”.)

3) As “Mass” is a physical property an “Extra-physical supernatural” entity cannot have mass.

Evidently, there’s no evidence of Metaphysical “Spirits” or “Supernaturals”

4) And yet, somehow such an extra-physical or supernatural entity has to affect the natural physical reality.

Now, there are some “Definitive” Problems with Reality !

0. Look again carefully at Newton’s 3rd Law (which he discovered but didn’t invent, it’s a universal inviolable law as far we know, even at the quantum realm as the “Momentum Conservation Law” holds everywhere.)

1. “Force” is by definition the means through which any two or more objects or entities interact or affect each-other, and by definition which is nothing but the

“Estimation of the Product of the “MASS” and “Acceleration” of the 2nd object B caused by A and vice-versa.”

2. We know as E=mc², Energy Density can produce Massive effect in Space.

(And unless somebody is a pseudoscientist the whole scientific community knows and agrees that all scientific term such as “Force”, “Power”, “Velocity” and also “Energy”, though inspired and derived from the ancient terminology, such “Scientific Terms” are conceptually different from their precursors and Scientifically quite significantly different in their “Interpretation”.)

So the traditional metaphysical mythological concept of energy by far has nothing to do with the “Physical Energy” in Physics. These are just mathematical concepts through which we scientifically contemplate Reality. There’s a well-established conceptual distinction between Physics and Metaphysics.

3. So Extra-physical or supernatural can neither be Massive nor “Energy” in scientific terms.

4. Now there’s a big problem as it all comes down to satisfy the 4th clause of being supernatural.

What Newton’s 3rd Law really signifies is, “Not only Every action has an equal and opposite re-action, it has to be such way, and to exert a force on any other object B, the causing object or entity A has to have mass. Because the “Re-Action” is the sole thing that really enables you to exert and continue exerting Force on anything else, and which is nothing but the “Product of the Mass and the Acceleration of A” caused by B.

So you see, There is a Causal-Nexus in Reality that is not only inviolable, it’s even UNTHINKABLE to violate Newton’s 3rd Law.

(But it’s “by definition” absolutely impossible for “Supernatural” to be “real” without violating Newton’s 3rd Law.)

Just think about it, in a thought experiment, if you didn’t have any mass at all and try to push anything, for example, a door or box or anything, what could have happened (if it was even possible at all) ? Without any inherent Mass and any Re-Action, you would’ve only passed right through the object, and the object wouldn’t have moved an inch.

(Do not underestimate such thought experiments. Only such a thought experiment famously abled Einstein to figure the General Theory of Relativity and so on.)

So by investigating the whole scenario from this thought experiment we can conclude without a doubt that not only it’s impossible, it’s even unthinkable for anything supernatural to exist.

The idea of “Supernatural Extraphysical Cause” that can affect the Natural World is Unscientific, UNREAL, Impossible.

The supernatural God (which is by definition the only kind of God) not only doesn’t exist, it couldn’t exist. It’s just an unsophisticated Myth.

Religion is the biggest Lie ever told.

Nature is Everything.

Sean Carroll : The Big Picture (The book by the Caltech University Physicist that introduced the idea of Poetic Naturalism)

And besides, the leading scientific consensus is.

I’d honestly like to know if there could be any atheistic counter view to my logic from a Realistic Naturalistic Scientific Perspective. Or all of you Scientific Atheists there agree to this ?

Let’s vote.

Those who agree (or at least lean towards the argument) put an APPLAUD or simply write “AGREE”,

and those who disagree, if you’re an atheist and personally find yourself enough (moderate) scientifically and philosophically enlightened to logically comment on this,

type “A & N” (For Atheist only) for “Atheist and No.”

And write your response separately or from the next line. (For ease of counting).

Let’s see how many APPLAUD and how many “A & N” we get.

Though I also eager to see any logical theist answer attempt to this, but please do not use “A & N”, they should simply write “No.” and their response.
